Up on a mountain enjoying the view before hiding this marble.

Going on a marble hunt is a great way to get out on an adventure. But first, you are gonna need a clue! Joining a marble hunt group will get you some clues. Posts will have a general location noted. Usually the state and county. Next, a clue will be presented. Almost always this is a photo, but it is up to the hider to decide what kind of clue they want to offer. Some folks come up with some really creative clues. Once you make it to the location of the photo clue, you gotta find the marble now. This also can vary in difficulty. Almost always the marble is hidden out of sight from the general public. When you have the marble in hand be sure to make a comment on the post that you have found the marble. A photo is always appreciated. I remember my first marble hunt. It was such a thrill that it became a huge part of why I began down the path of creating handmade marbles.

Purchasing Hider Marbles

Here is a typical hider marble set.

At some point, you will be ready to hide a marble. While you could always hide one of the marbles you found. Most players will choose to purchase a hider marble. Beginner glass artists are usually a great source of inexpensive marbles to hide. This support helps them fund the purchase of supplies and materials to keep them going down the glass path. Try to find your local glass artist to cut down on shipping, I still enjoy putting together hider marble sets. I always try to keep a few hider marble sets available in my Etsy store.
